Mentioned in 1313 in a notarial deed from the Registre d’Anniviers, Humagne Blanche is one of the oldest Valais grape varieties. According to popular tradition, it has Roman origins and an exceptionally high iron content, earning it the nickname of “wine for women who have given birth”. However, modern research has disproved both of these claims. A variety found only in the Valais, Humagne Blanche, unrelated to its namesake Humagne Rouge, almost disappeared during the 20th century due to its low productivity and susceptibility to vine pests.

Slow, gentle pressing, a single low-temperature fermentation, and six months of ageing in vats ensure maximum fullness and roundness while retaining the finesse and freshness of the aromas.
Yellow with grey and green highlights.
A subtle blend of melon, citrus, pear, lime and hazelnut characterises the compelling floral bouquet.
Vinosity combines with lovely acidity to give a mouth-watering wine with delicate notes of honey and dried fruit ending on a long, fresh finish.
Humagne Blanche is the perfect accompaniment to oysters, fish mousse, poultry terrine, charcuterie platters and alpine cheeses.
