Palmer Historical XiXth Century Wine 2016 is a rare wine combining the excellence of a prestigious Margaux and Rhône wines. This wine will delight lovers and collectors of great wines from all over the world. History buffs, fine wine enthusiasts and collectors all know that the great Bordeaux wines of the Left Bank were very often “hermitaged” as far back as the 18th century. This practice consisted of blending a few great Syrahs from the Northern Rhône, with the great Cabernets and Merlots from the Left Bank.
Tasting a hermitagé wine from the 19th century during a trip to a major Californian collector, Thomas Duroux, the director of Château Palmer, wanted to bring this tradition back up to date.
In a magnificent bottle specially dressed for the occasion, Château Palmer thus presents Historical XIXth Century Wine 2016. An exceptional wine that brings together the best of Bordeaux and Rhône Valley expertise in a blend of Merlot (45%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (45%) containing 10% of wines from the northern Côtes du Rhône.
